Behind The Threads

The Fitch Family’s journey is rooted in both entrepreneurship and adventure. In 2022, Patrick and Sara Fitch, along with their four children, traded the snowy winters of Northern New York for the palm trees and coastal charm of Charleston, South Carolina’s Lowcountry. Drawn to the beaches and the slower pace of life, Patrick and Sara knew this was the perfect place to raise their children and continue building a life they loved.

The Fitch’s are no strangers to success or creativity. Patrick is a successful restaurateur with a thriving history in New York, while Sara built a top-performing marketing and real estate firm with multiple locations along the East Coast. Beyond her business accomplishments, Sara is also an author and a well-respected advocate for child welfare in the United States. Together, the couple has always shared a passion for family, community, and building businesses with purpose.

The Fitch’s four children—August , Jameson , Vivian , and Grant —bring joy, inspiration, and plenty of personality to family life in Charleston.

In the fall of 2024, Sara began chain-cable-stitching playful, stylish sweaters for her children. The first big hit was the School Spirit Sweater—a design she made for Vivian and then another for a friend so the two girls could “twin” on spirit day. The school loved them so much they featured the sweaters on their Instagram page, and suddenly everyone was talking about the “Laurel Hill Sweaters.”

Just days later, while dining out in Mount Pleasant, the Fitch Family was approached by a group of moms who recognized the sweaters from social media. They asked where they could buy them, and Sara took four orders right at the table. By the end of the season, several hundred holiday orders had been placed from the classic “Thankful” Thanksgiving sweater to the Christmas “jingle all the way” viral sweater, and it was clear there was a true demand for these sweet, timeless designs.

What began as a mother’s creative project soon grew into a beloved brand. In 2025, fueled by community support, and a love for creating pieces that make childhood feel even more special and cherished, Pleasant Threads, Inc. was born.
